FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are the minimum and maximum ages for your programs?
The majority of our programming starts at the 2nd grade level (age 7/8) and caps at the 9th grade level (age 13/14). Each program description lists the grade levels that it serves. Your child must be within the grade range of their desired program in order to participate. There is NO* programming for 6 year olds or younger at this time.

My child participated in a BBA program last season. Do they need to try out again?
Tryouts for current players are only required if they wish to play in a more advanced league (ex. moving up from Intro to Basketball to the Development League, or from the Development League to the Travel Team).

However, if your child missed a consecutive season with BBA, they will need to tryout again to rejoin the program (ex. participated in fall, missed winter, wants to participate in spring).

We missed the official tryout dates. Can my child still play this season?
If your child played in the previous season, they can still participate IF there are roster spots open. If your child is new to BBA, they will need to set up an individual skills evaluation before they can participate. Evaluation forms can be found on our Brooklyn Cup, Travel Team, and Skills Training & Conditioning webpages.

I am late registering for this season. Why won’t LeagueApps process my registration?
There’s a chance that there are no more available roster spots, or you may have an outstanding balance from a previous season or program. Contact Nelly Trombetta to review your registration status.

My child’s team schedule doesn’t work for us anymore. Can we switch dates or teams?
If there are available roster spots on another team or date, we can facilitate a switch. However, if all teams are at maximum capacity, you and a coach must connect with another parent that is willing to switch teams. Contact Nelly Trombetta to inquire about registration switches.

Are there practices or games on the holidays?
We have camps during holidays that fall on a weekday. See the Camps & Clinics page on our website. However, please note that BBA is fully closed on:
-Thanksgiving Day
-Thanksgiving Friday
-Christmas Eve
-Christmas Day
-New Years Eve
-New Years Day

I have multiple children in multiple grade levels. Can they play on the same team or take the same classes?
This depends on the program, and is at the discretion of the coach. If there is a significant difference in skill level between each child (especially if they are different ages), they might have to remain separate for the sake of having an effective session for the team/group.

What's the difference between your Gowanus Location (6th Street) and Industry City Location (25th Street)?
Gowanus is BBA's original location. It's the smallest of the two, and only has a basketball court. Industry City is our newest, and largest location. In addition to a basketball court, it's home to our Warehouse Fitness Center and shooting lab. This is the main location for league games, scrimmages, training, camps, and other major BBA events.

Is there a lost and found?
Yes, We do have lost and found box next to the reception desk at Ind City and by the entrance at Gowanus. BBA is not responsible for any missing or forgotten property.
